AHSS Announces Expansion to Michigan

Ann Arbor, Michigan—Autism Home Support Services Inc. (AHSS) proudly announces the official launch of its in-home behavior therapy services to southeast Michigan.

AHSS provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services specifically in the home to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. A customized care plan will guide the care team to help a child reach his or her full potential in their familiar environment.

Since January 2010 with its first client, AHSS has grown to be the largest in-home ABA provider agency in Illinois. Steve Kaufman, founder, said “It has always been our plan to be a regional or national provider of ABA services. The Michigan mandate emphasis on early diagnosis and intervention aligns with our mission.”

Laura McKee, CEO, added “we selected Ann Arbor as our base to provide ABA services first in southeast Michigan. Our mission is to provide high quality ABA to as many children as possible. Our model provides the infrastructure and systems to improve availability to a broader area while reducing wait times.”

AHSS is a qualified in-network provider of major insurance carriers and will add other insurance companies soon. The AHSS insurance specialist will confirm the ABA benefit and file claims for service.

AHSS will continue to hire the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and behavior technicians from Michigan that are within a reasonable driving distance to their clients’ home. Rebecca Cowell, Lead BCBA, will head the clinical team, while Tammy Morris, Family Support Manager, will help families get started with ABA services.

AHSS partners with parents, schools, psychologists, social workers, physicians and therapists to determine the families’ needs and to ensure the care and therapy is enhanced.
