Gratitude at graduation – Why We Do What We Do

We consistently have an abundance of stories we share that personify why we do what we do here at AHSS. While they are each as unique and diverse as the kiddos with autism we serve, there is one goal that unites them all:  Empowering progress toward hopes & dreams.

This client came to us in 2011 when she was 3 years old and nonverbal. And now we’re incredibly proud and grateful to celebrate her graduation from ABA therapy and AHSS with her and her family.

From Family Support Coordinator Wanda Malone:

“I wanted to share with you that today we graduated D. She has been with us for almost six years. Her celebration today was so awesome to be a part of. Mom recalled when D started ABA and was nonverbal — after about 6-8 months with AHSS, she heard her daughter’s first words.

Mom shared she is forever grateful for the services and support she has received from AHSS. Naturally, she is scared of not having us around, but I reminded her she could still call me for resources beyond what we’ve shared with them already.

It was an awesome moment to see how far she has come. This is why we do what we do.”
