Autism Home Support Services (AHSS) is sponsoring the first-ever “sensory friendly” hours at Taste of Chicago on Sunday, July 15 from 10 am to 12 pm. During this time, less-stimulating entertainment and a “quiet tent” will provide a fun experience for families whose children have autism or other sensory disorders.
AHSS’ Quiet Tent will be available all weekend, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Chicago Parent Kids Eat section of Taste of Chicago. Staffed by clinicians who specialize in working with children who have sensory disorders, the tent will provide a calm place for parents to take an overwhelmed child to recover.
